The design of Honda Jazz is primarily targeted towards the 20-40 year age group who are looking for an urban commuter or a family hatchback. Honda Jazz is undoubtedly one of the most spacious hatchbacks in the B segment, offering ample leg room, head space and shoulder space even to the passengers sitting at the rear. The Honda Jazz line-up comprises total 12 variants, including 5 manual trims in petrol and diesel guise each, and 2 CVT variants offered on the S and V petrol trims. The car is available in 6 different colours - Alabaster Silver Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, Taffeta White, Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearl.
From exterior, the multi-element grille seamlessly meets into the head lamps, which appears very delightful to the eyes. Fog lights are placed carefully on the end of the front bumper, along with air intakes. Outside rear view mirrors and outside door handles are also painted in body colour. Wing mirrors also get electrically-adjustable function. The alloy wheels ornate side profile of the hatchback, hence rendering a neat look to the exteriors. Among the most noticeable changes, the strong beltline originating from the front door and stretching up to the tail lights is included. The rear features 3D-effect tail lights, reflectors and a broad chrome strip that runs across the length of the tailgate.
Honda Jazz has spacious cabin allowing five adults to be accommodated comfortably. The front as well as rear sides of the hatchback offer ample space. There are nine cup holders inside the cabin which makes it very practical in terms of usage. The magic seats affixed in the rear can be folded flat, flipped upwards and split whenever required. Honda Jazz gets advanced features aboard, like a 5-inch colour screen for the rear-view camera, infotainment system with a 6.2-inch touch screen, touch-operated panels for climate control system, and steering-mounted controls for audio and telephone functions. Other comfort features aligned inside are power windows, tilt steering, audio system with Bluetooth, height adjuster for the driver's seat and paddle shifter available only in the CVT variant among others. For storing luggage, a 354-litre of boot is on offering.
Honda Jazz is available in the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine option. The 1.2-litre petrol engine has been tuned to generate 88.8bhp of maximum power at 6000rpm and top torque of 11.21kgm at 4800rpm. Honda's 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel power train, promises to deliver maximum power of 98.6bhp at 6000rpm, along with pinnacle torque of 20.39kgm at 1750rpm. Honda Jazz transmission options available on the petrol engine include a five-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The diesel engine has been linked to a six-speed manual transmission only.
Safety and Security
Disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear have been fitted to provide the stopping power. Anti-lock braking system, along with electronic brake force distribution, has been set up in the Jazz S CVT and diesel trims only. Dual front airbags are available in the SV trim and the others placed above it. Among the secondary safety features, central locking, driver seat belt and key reminder have also been put in place to perform their respective duties. Top-end variants of the Jazz get ABS, EBD and dual front airbags.
