Hyundai Xcent is designed to match your style and family needs. The Stylish Exterior and ergonomic spacious interior of the Xcent gives you no other reason to drive any other car. The new Xcent is introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims in five trim levels: E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). It gets class leading features along with a spacious cabin.
In addition, an automatic variant is also introduced in petrol fuel trims, based on the S trim. The petrol engine is retained while the 1.1L diesel engine is replaced with 1.2L unit. Hyundai Xcent is accessible in 5 different colors - Marine Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Star Dust, Wine Red.
The new cascade design grille adopts the Cascading profile with chrome slats that reflects the progressive looks and projects powerful brand presence. The Xcent measures at 3,995mm x 1,660mm x 1,520mm (LxWxH). The wheelbase is the same too at 2,425mm.
Coming onto the sides, stylish pull type chrome door handles with a neat finishing adds premium feel to side profile of New Xcent. Sporty waistline moulding enhances side profile and prevents side scratches to body. Aerodynamically sculpted outside mirror is ornamented with LED turn indicator for enhanced looks and safety. Electrically adjustable and foldable mirror offers great combination of comfort and convenience.
At the back, a stylish new rear bumper with rear chrome garnish leaves quite an impression. Wrap-around rear combination lamps increase the style quotient and ensure high visibility for added safety.
It comes with a first-in-segment wheel air curtain which provides air passage around the wheel while driving to increase mileage and for safety purpose. The stylish new LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) adds an extra touch of finesse to the front of the all New Xcent. The 2 tone Diamond cut R15 inch alloy wheels is machined for perfection which imparts an aesthetic appeal.
The interior has been carried over from the previous Xcent but with improvements. The Xcent gets the new 7-inch touchscreen display infotainment unit along with steering mounted audio controls. Tilt power steering wheel helps steering adjustment as per convenience thus comfortable for drivers of all stature. It gets automatic climate control for the top-spec car along with rear AC vents. The instrument cluster has been retained from the older car - a twin-pod unit with a multifunction display in the centre.
Ergonomically designed rear seat with centre armrest and integrated cup holder ensures comfort during long journeys. It comes with rear adjustable headrests which provide added comfort to the rear seat passengers of different body size. Rear parcel tray is also placed in the Xcent which is useful for placing utility items and also acts as a hiding cover for luggage stored in the trunk.
The all new Xcent is loaded with various storage spaces such as floor console storage, seat storage pockets, center console, cooled glove box and offers a boot space of 407 litres.
The Xcent comes with same engine and gearbox options - petrol manual, petrol automatic and diesel manual. The petrol engine is the 4-cylinder 1,200cc kappa mill developing 83PS of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 4,000rpm and it comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic. It is a gem of an engine which was first introduced in the i10 in 2010. It gets the 3-cylinder 1.2-litre mill that's also in the Grand i10 but in the Xcent it develops 1PS extra power and 20Nm of extra torque over the Grand. With an adequate 75PS of power at 4,000rpm and 190Nm of peak torque between 1,750-2,250rpm, performance was expected to be better than the hatchback.
It returns an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 24.4kmpl, 0.4 kmpl more than the hatchback. In the real world, expect figures close to 17kmpl in the city and 22.5kmpl on the highway. The aerodynamic design of the new Xcent together with unique Wheel Air curtains help to achieve low Cofficient of Drag (Cd) and ensure stable ride.
Safety and Security
For safety, the Xcent gets ABS and EBD with dual front airbags along with features like central locking and engine immobiliser. It also gets a rear defogger which helps in removing mist on the rear glass during foggy or rainy weather conditions to ensure proper visibility of trailing traffic. The new Xcent gets a new feature of Steering Adaptive Guidelines which is useful for parking in tight spaces, the display on 7.0 Audio screen assists while reversing with the help of proximity sensors thus minimizing the risk of a possible collision.
Comfort and Convenience
Rear AC vent has been designed specially to enhance rear passenger comfort with instant cooling and comes with power accessory to give your family the complete comfort while on the drive. The Xcent gets a 7.0 Touchscreen AV System with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link with a multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel equipped with various controls just at your fingertips. The top-end variant also gets features like smart key with push start/stop button and driver seat height adjustment.
On the features front, the top-of-the-line Xcent in SX trim gets driver and front passenger airbags, ABS, keyless entry with push button start/stop, rear AC vents, multi function steering wheel, driver seat height adjustment, a 2-din audio system with Bluetooth, USB and aux-in ports, power outlets for the front and rear, chrome door handles on the inside and out and rear parking sensors and parking camera with display in the rear view mirror. From outside, the Xcent gets integrated turn indicators in the electrically adjustable auto-folding outside rear view mirrors and 15-inch alloy wheels (it's part of the option pack - 14-inch wheels on SX trim). There isn't much you will need besides leather seats, which should be available as a dealer option.
