Volvo, the Swedish luxury carmaker will soon unleash the much-awaited new 2017 Volvo XC40 SUV in the International market. Expected to make global debut in somewhere around the third quarter of this year, the finest luxury SUV is currently in testing stage. The company had emblazoned the SUV in the form of the Concept 40.1.
The SUV will be introduced with Volvos new modular 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine. The new 1.5L unit will most likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel powerhouses and in both turbo and without turbocharging options will be made available. The top-notch XC40 will also get a petrol-induced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) unit named the T5 Twin Engine. While the 3-cylinder petrol unit will produce around 182bhp, the electric motor develops 75bhp. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels of the SUV via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The dashboard features include control dials with chrome surround on both side and it also has several in-car controls. The genesis of the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel is from other XCs, but it doesnt possess paddle shifters. There is a broad centre armrest for the driver and co-passenger and several cubby holes. It will only come as a five-seater premium SUV.
The new XC40 SUV is anticipated to make its global debut towards the end of this year. We expect this SUV to carve its way to Indian shore in 2018. A possible debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo cant be overlooked.
