German luxury car maker BMW will launch its electric car i3 in India at an estimated price of Rs 38-42 Lakh.However, there is no information related to the official launch date of this hatchback.
This upcoming vehicle will be targeted towards those individuals, who want to minimize running cost without making a deal in terms of luxury. This upcoming vehicle is expected to accommodate five passengers with a spacious internal cabin and provide ample space. It is expected to have attractive body structure and compact size with an ultra modern look.
It is expected to have signature radiator grille, in kidney bean shape, its passenger compartment is built with high strength carbon fiber that is 30% lighter than the conventional aluminum. It is expected to be available in two trim levels, high voltage Li-ion /18.8 kWh battery. In addition to this, it is powered by a electro-synchronous 125kW motor that have maximum power of 102bhp. It takes around 6 to 8 hours to charge the battery for a full range. It can travel up to 190 km on a single charge, which gradually goes down to about 160 Kilometers in case of regular use and 0.6 L two cylinders petrol motor with a maximum power output of 38 bhp ,which is rather good for an electric car.
