Skoda Kamiq crossover leaked ahead of official debut

Skoda Kamiq has been leaked ahead of its official debut at Beijing Motor Show. The SUV accompanies with commanding fascia while design lines are like those seen on greater Skoda SUVs.

Skoda Kamiq measures 4390mm in length, 1781mm in width and 1593mm in height. This results in 2610mm of total wheelbase. In terms of design and styling, the Kamiq looks a lot like its larger SUV siblings, though the headlamps, tail-lamps, front and rear bumpers and tailgate have been tweaked. The interiors of the crossover haven't been revealed yet, but it looks to be a five-seater. The overall profile of the car remains clean and understated, just in line with every other Skoda.

Karoq is a full time SUV with aggressive styling and 4x4 choice while Kamiq will act as mild crossover that may carry the much talked 1.5L petrol motor with 110HP. Skoda is coming back well after a huge downfall in popularity in India.  They are presently selling Rapid, Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq in the country. The design lines and front fascia of all these cars feel comparable and shockingly, Skoda Rapid has regained the pace by crossing more than 1,000 units of sale almost every month.

Skoda Kamiq will go on sale in China around the mid of 2018 while production will be handled by Volkswagen's Shanghai facility. The Kamiq is unlikely to make it to India anytime soon. Skoda India launched the Kodiaq in October last year, and plans to launch the smaller Karoq sometime later in 2018. Superb is a full length sedan that challenges cars priced double its own tag.

After Kodiaq, bringing more SUVs to India will definitely affect the brand value of Skoda and attract more buyers than ever. Kamiq is actually a Hyundai Creta rival while Karoq will target greater cars like Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.
