Tata Motors has launched its all-new  Nexon compact SUV beginning at Rs 5.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top-spec diesel XZ+ variation costs Rs 9.45 lakh, and the top-end petrol costs Rs 8.60 lakh.

The sub-four metre compact SUV will be offered in four trims and two engine choices with single and in addition double tone shading alternatives.

From inside, the new 2017 Nexon gets a three-tone interior along with climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with floating display and eight speakers, button start, rotary dial for drive mode choice and a 350-litre boot. The Harman touchscreen infotainment system gets USB, Bluetooth and AUX availability.

The interiors on the new 2017 Nexon are a game-changer as far as Tata is concerned. The Nexon acquires a cooled-and rubberized glovebox, the glove box door has drink holders and cubbies also and can be be doubled up as a tray if required. The rubberised finish on the dashboard feels premium to touch as do whatever remains of the plastics in the inside. The dashboard gets gloss finished accents.

Tata offers plenty of kit on the Nexon, with even the base variant getting dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reach and rake controlling modify different drive modes (Eco, City, and Sport), umbrella holders in the doors and a folding rear seat. The Nexon is the first in its class to highlight various drive modes for both engines options.

The 2017 Nexon embraces a rather modern styling approach with its stunning lines. The top-spec car gets a featured window-sill line to give it a modern touch. The tall stance and flared arches along with the slightly sloping roof give it a muscular yet suave look.

The compact SUV is powered by another 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 110hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine. The two engines have been launched with six-speed manual gearboxes; a six-speed AMT for the diesel and a five-speed AMT for the petrol model will arrive at a later date.

The 2017 Tata Nexon competes next to the likes of the Ford Ecosport, the Honda WR-V and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Likewise incorporated into the opposition are the Mahindra TUV300 and the erstwhile Nuvosport.
