Nexon is an upcoming compact SUV by Tata placed between Zest and Safari Storme. The car is expected to offer bespoke customization options to buyers as an added value on its exterior and interiors.
This new compact SUV by Tata features projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, contrast roof, LED tail lamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. Its design is expected to have as much resemblance possible to the concept version which was showcased in the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. Rear seating space and head-room would be reduced to confirm with its compact design, nevertheless, a host of many new features will compensate.
Nexon will come in both Petrol and Diesel engines. The Petrol is expected to be a 1.2 litre turbocharged with approximately 88 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque. Diesel would be a 1.3 litre Multijet with 110BHP and 200Nm of power and torque respectively. Diesel variants are expected to come mated with 6-speed manual transmission while the petrol may come with 5-speed manual. Later, an AMT transmission would also be on the cards by Tata.
You can expect Tata Nexon to reach showrooms in India by mid 2017 in a price range of 7 to 11 lacs tentatively. Once in the market, it would compete with Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the compact SUV segment.
