Volvo S60 Polestar to launch in India on April 14, 2017

Volvo India is all set to launch its performance arm, Polestar, in India on April 14. Volvo cars have always stood out from the crowd and the upcoming V60 Polestar is no less.

The new S60 Polestar sticks with Volvo’s strategy of downsized engines with the model making use of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine – older models used a 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit. The 2.0-litre unit however is turbocharged and supercharged to pump out a generous 367hp and 470Nm of torque.

The S60 Polestar also features other mechanical and cosmetic updates such as larger brakes, stiffer suspension, a bigger turbocharged, and a more aggressive body kit and larger 20-inch Polestar alloy wheels.

Apart from the broad list of safety techs like airbags and ABS, the car comes loaded with sensors which reads the surroundings and applies brakes automatically if it detects any obstacles in its path. This feature works at speeds up to 50kmph.

The S60 Polestar is likely to go head to head with the Mercedes-AMG C43 and the Audi S5 Sportback, both of which are equipped with larger displacement six-cylinder petrol engines.
