Volkswagen has launched a new variant for its Polo hatchback, the Polo GT Sport. The GT Sport features cosmetic changes to the exterior and cabin to set it apart from the standard GT and is available in both petrol and diesel engines.

From outside, the new Polo GT Sport gets a black-finished roof-mounted spoiler, along with a black roof and graphics running along the lower door panels. The model sits on new 16-inch Portago alloy wheels. The GT Sport is offered in two colour options – Flash Red and Candy White.

Inside the cabin, the car gets fresh black leatherette seat covers with GT embossing as compared to the standard GT’s dual-tone seat upholstery. Equipment levels are otherwise unaffected from the standard GT.

The GT TSI is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-litre TSI mill producing 103bhp/175Nm while the GT TDI is a 1.5-litre unit producing 108bhp/250Nm. The former is only presented with a seven-speed DSG while the oil burner gets a five-speed manual.
