Toyota’s most selling hybrid vehicle in India, the Camry Hybrid is now available at even lower price in Delhi. Thanks to the excise duty reduction of the hybrid and electric vehicles to 12.5 percent from the previous 25 percent by the Delhi government. The Camry Hybrid gets a price cut of Rs 2.30 lakh and now it is priced at Rs 30.90 lakh as against the earlier price of Rs 33.20 lakh (price, ex-showroom, Delhi).

Under the hood, the Toyota Camry Hybrid is powered by 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that is paired to a permanent magnet synchronous motor (an electric motor). Together they develop 202bhp of power (158bhp from the engine and 44bhp from the electric motor) and 213Nm of torque. It is mated to an electronically controlled CVT unit transmission.

This decision might have a strong impact on new car buyers in the nation's capital to option for Hybrid cars since the ban on registration of diesel vehicles above 2000cc is still on.
