Suzuki Ciaz And Ertiga Score 4-Star Safety Rating in New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP)

The Suzuki's  Ciaz and the Ertiga both have scored a four-star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP. In the area of child safety, both the cars were awarded with a two-star rating.


The Ciaz performed well by achieving a four-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and two-star rating for child occupant protection. This model of the Ciaz was equipped with dual-front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR), and had a 1.4-litre petrol engine. In India, the car is available with dual-front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) and seatbelt pre-tensioner with force limiter.


The Suzuki Ertiga MPV scored a four-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and two-star rating for child occupant protection. The Ertiga which was tested was equipped with dual-front airbags, Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Ertiga comes with almost similar safety features as the Ciaz. It has dual-front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), seatbelt pre-tensioner and force limiter for the front seats.


Last month, Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP) had conducted crash test conducted for five Indian cars, in which all of them scored zero stars. The tested models were Renault Kwid, Hyundai Eon, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Eeco and the Celerio.
