Skoda Octavia facelift likely to launch in July 2017

Skoda, a popular Czech automaker is preparing itself for the launch of new 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift which is expected to launch in India soon. It is believed that the new model might be launched in the country in July 2017.

Changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades, whereas mechanically it will continue to be powered by existing engine options. Reports indicate that production for the current model has been stopped and the facelifted version will soon begin production at the existing facility.

Speaking of changes, the 2017 Skoda Octavia will feature a new butterfly grille, fresh LED-powered tail light cluster lamps and a redesigned bumper with wider air intakes and new fog lamps. The car might get a 9.2-inch infotainment system, climate control and memory setting. The facelift will also acquire added kit such as a hands-free parking function, updated smartphone integration and a driver exhaustion monitoring system.

Under the hood, the new Skoda Octavia facelift will continue to sport same set of engine options as the mechanical front will remain untouched. The sedan will carry 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine which will be mated to a 6-speed MT, 1.8-litre TSI petrol unit coupled with a 7-speed DSG as well as 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine with a 6-speed AT.

The Skoda Octavia facelift will challenge the likes of the recently facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis and the new Hyundai Elantra.
