Renault Kwid receives 1.5 lakh bookings in less than a year since its launch

Renault Kwid was launched last year in September, and has crossed a whooping 1.5 lakh bookings in India since its launch. Kwid played a significant role in boosting Renault sales in Indian market and has been going strong with orders since it first arrived in India.

The Kwid, with its SUV-like design, made headlines at the time of the launch with a highly competitive pricing that starts at Rs. 2.57 lakh and goes up to Rs. 3.53 lakh for the top spec variant, (ex-showroom, Delhi). The small car currently commands over 3 months of waiting period. Recently, company has added third shift at its Chennai plant to boost up Kwid's production capacity to fulfil current market demands.

Kwid is powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine, which develops 53bhp at 5,678rpm and a peak torque of 72Nm at 4,386rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission which helps to get an ARAI mileage of 20.2kmpl in city and 25.8kmpl on the highway.
