Renault Kwid quickly became popular in India and repeated the popularity set by Renault Duster few years back. With Kwid bookings gone up to 70,000 units it seems customers have to wait as high as up to 10 minths now. The delay is triggered by Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Chennai being shut down due to recent floods in Chennai.
Renault sold 7,819 cars last month but to meet the increased demand will be a major problem for Renault. If Renault ramps up its production in its other production units, it has to produce 15,000 to 20,000 cars per month to meet these increased demands.
