2017 Mahindra XUV500 to Be Launched Later This Year

Mahindra XUV500 has been a deep success ever since it was launched six years ago in September 2011.

Since entering Indian market in September 2011, the exclusive SUV has been a popular model courtesy of its rugged dynamics and in fact it is the first Mahindra model to be based on monocoque construction emphasizing rigidity and core strength.

Powering the XUV500 is a 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine which can also be found in the Mahindra Scorpio. It is good enough to turn out a maximum power output of 140 bhp at 3,750 rpm and peak torque of 330 Nm at 1600-2800 rpm. It is connected to a six-speed manual gearbox developed by Ricardo.

Besides achieving success in India, the XUV500 has also been well accepted in International markets such as South Africa, Europe, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Australia and Sri Lanka. Mahindra XUV500 has achieved as lots of awards in the past six years.

Mahindra XUV500 has managed to separate itself from the crowd, thanks to the stylish design and best in class road presence. This new XUV500 variant will be launched this year along with a minor facelift, confirmed Mahindra.
