German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is going to launch E-Class Long-Wheelbase in Indian market. The company recently launched Night Edition of the A-Class and B-Class in January. Selected dealers have started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 2 lakh.
New E-Class shares its design language with the current S and C-Class. It features new goodies like touch-sensitive steering controls, two 12.3-inch high-res displays housing the virtual instrument cluster and infotainment display and a touchpad controller with handwriting recognition. All the functions of infotainment, climate control and interior lighting can be controlled through a touchscreen tablet in the rear seat. Long wheelbase model has 140mm longer wheelbase. It also offers a 23-speaker setup with the 3D sound system by Burmester.
The car will continue to offer the same 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and a new 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine. It is expected to come at a starting price of Rs 65 lakh.
