Mercedes-Benz India is launching new GLS SUV on May 18, 2016

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz will launch its seven-seater luxury SUV GLS on May 18, 2016 in India. The new GLS will be the facelift of its top-of-line SUV, GL-Class.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLS comes with some minor design changes such as new redesigned  headlamps incorporates LED daytime running lights, a revised front grille, revised bumpers and new alloy wheel. In fact, the cabin has also been extensively redesigned and now comes with more space and luxurious interior. Car is equipped with 8-inch screen with touchpad control, a new 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel covered in Nappa leather and five driving modes.

Under the hood, GLS SUV is expected to carry on the older GL’s 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that develops 255bhp of power and 617NM of torque. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission with a center differential lock as optional.

The new GLS SUV comes with latest safety and assistance devices. The feature list includes - collision prevention assist, crosswind assist, attention assist, pre-safe, Brake Assist, cruise control, electronic stability control and electronic all-wheel drive traction system with four Enhanced Traction System.

Mercedes-Benz GLS is expected to be priced around Rs. 80 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore.
