Mercedes-Benz has launched GLS SUV in India, Starting at Rs 80.40 Lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi)

German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has launched its GLS SUV in India at Rs 80.40 lakh (ex-showroom - New Delhi). It is a facelift and updated version of the previous GL class. The car comes with updates exteriors and interiors like – a new chrome finish front grille, new multi-beam headlights integrated with DRLs, revised front and rear bumpers, a muscular bonnet, new LED tail lamps. New updated Mercedes-Benz GLS now measures 5130mm in length, 1934mm in width and 1850mm in height. It has a great wheelbase of 3,075mm which makes it a perfect off-roader.

In fact, the cabin has some new updates like - a new 8-inch free floating infotainment screen, updated three-spoke steering wheel covered in Nappa leather, new instrument console, Command Online infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and internet access via a synced phone's data network, an electronically adjustable air suspension, five drive modes, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, a park assist function and an electric folding third row. The GLS will also come with a host of safety features, such as Brake Assist, ESP, Pre-Safe, electronic all-wheel drive traction system with four Enhanced Traction System collision prevention assist.

Under the hood, GLS SUV is powered by current running GL’s 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that develops 258bhp of power and 620NM of torque. Power will be transmitted to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes-Benz claims that the new gearbox has improved performance and efficiency of the GLS SUV with a claimed 0-100kmph in just 8.2 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz GLS will be locally assembled in India.
