In the month of January 2016, while other automakers hiked prices of their cars, Maruti Suzuki took a discrete step by reducing the price of its premium crossover S cross. Maruti slashed S cross price up to 2.05 lakh which now starts at Rs 7.79 lakh as compared to its earlier price of 8.34 Lakh.

Maruti reduction in the price is an attempt to increase their sales of S Cross its sales numbers were low post the launch in 2015, with average sales of around 3,000 units per month despite year end discounts.

With this price reduction, its base trim DDiS 200 sigma has become more affordable with prices down by Rs 55,000. The more powerful top DDiS 320 variant on the other hand had a more significant decline with prices down by Rs 2.05 lakh.
