Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its much-awaited hatchback the Ignis on 13th January 2017. Already showcased in Auto Expo 2016, there is plenty of buzz surrounding this funky-looking crossover.
Design wise, the Ignis marks its arrival with a distinctive front face that integrates LED headlamps (first in the segment) and strong lines of the front grille. To add a bit more sportiness, company will even offer black-colored alloy wheels with gloss finish in top-spec trim.
The cabin is quite impressive, even commonly shared bits like steering wheel and dash buttons are new. With all these, the car looks thoroughly fresh and new on the inside. In terms of features, Maruti will offer a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, climate control, electric mirrors, steering mounted controls, alloy wheels and a digital instrument cluster.
Mechanically, buyers will be able to choose between two engine options – a 1.2-litre K-series petrol and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Interestingly, both fuel options will get Maruti’s AGS (auto-gear shift) option, besides the standard 5-speed manual.
