Maruti Suzuki India, according to some reports, is planning to bring the diesel version of its bestselling compact car Alto800. The Diesel powered Alto800 is expected to launch around mid of 2016. It may be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 in Delhi which starts in February.

The Diesel powered Alto 800 is expected to be driven by same 793cc engine which is currently used to power Maruti Celerio diesel variant. The engine produces 47bhp and 125 Nm torque. The diesel Alto 800 is expected to comes with 4 speed automatic gearbox.
