Maruti Suzuki has launched its first ever premium hatchback Baleno in India with stating price of Rs. 4.99 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is available in 5 Petrol variants starting from Rs.4.99 lakhs and 4 Diesel variants starting from Rs.6.16 lakhs respectively. It will be sold only via Maruti’s Nexa showrooms (the premium showroom network for Maruti) in India.

The new Baleno is based on a lightweight platform, completely built in India with 99 per cent localization. For Maruti it is an entry into the premium B+ segment competing with cars like the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20 and the Volkswagen Polo.

The new Baleno is powered by 1.2 liter VVT Petrol engine pumping 83bhp / 115Nm mated with 5 speed manual gear box and CVT as well as 1.3-litre DDiS turbo Diesel engine producing 75bhp and 200Nm.

Styling wise, the Baleno gets new V-shaped grille and sweptback headlights. Finished in all black with silver accents, the interior features climate control, steering mounted audio controls, touch screen infotainment system, multicolor instrument cluster and lots more on top variants.

The Baleno is equipped with Apple Carplay that mirrors phone on the car screen making it easy to use. ABS, EBD and front dual airbags are standard across all variants of the new Baleno. It comes in 7 different colour options.
