Maruti Suzuki India stops production of Ritz hatchback

India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has stopped the manufacturing of Ritz. The popular hatchback was Launched in 2009 and shared same petrol and diesel engine with 5-speed manual transmission from its sibling Maruti swift

Maruti Suzuki decided to refresh its portfolio list in the country. The company is committed to ensure availability of spare parts and service for next 10 years to the owners of this smart hatchback. 

Maruti Suzuki has a wide range of hatchbacks namely - Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Wagon R and the Celerio. Apart from putting the Ritz to sleep, Maruti Suzuki has also shortened variant list of the 1.6-litre S-Cross. The 1.6-litre DDiS engine is now only available in its Alpha trim.

After launching the Ignis in January 2017, Maruti is slated to launch the Baleno RS on March 3, 2017. Online bookings for the Baleno RS have already begun.
