Maruti is ready to launch its popular Maruti Swift Dzire Diesel in AMT version. The launch date is not officially announced but is expected to happen early next year. Price is anticipated up to Rs 8.31 Lakh which is Rs 50,000 more than the current Swift Dzire ZDi manual version.

The Swift Dzire AMT is expected to use the same fiat sourced 1.3 L DDis diesel engine that generate 74bhp, the standard diesel engine used in all other diesel models and could mate with Magneti Marelli AMT gearbox. When launched, the Dzire AMT will compete with Tata Zest AMT, which uses the same 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced engine that generates a more robust 89bhp.
