Maruti Suzuki India has added a new vehicle to its portfolio – The Ignis, showcased at Auto Expo 2016, and is compact crossover based on the SUV/ Crossover concept.

Ignis is likely to come with two engine options - One is 1.2 litre K-series Petrol engine currently serving Swift & Baleno, and another one is 1.3 litre DDiS Diesel engine. CVT and manual will be offering transmission duties.

The compact crossover is packed with all new features like LED daytime running lamps, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay, dual airbags & ABS, reverse camera and parking sensor. 

Maruti Suzuki Ignis competes with Mahindra KUV100, while the other competitors are Compact SUVs such as Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300, Fiat Avventura and Fiat Urban Cross.
