Maruti Enters LCV Segment with Super Carry

Maruti Suzuki to launch Super Carry, its first Light Commercial Vehicle, in August 2016

India’s largest auto manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has announced that it will begin sales of the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) which is named, Super Carry from August-end. Initially, the carmaker plans to sell the LCV in Kolkata, Ludhiana and Ahmedabad only.

This LCV will be powered by a 793cc diesel engine which produces max power of 32PS at 3500rpm and peak torque of 75Nm at 2000rpm. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the vehicle returns an impressive fuel efficiency of 22.07kmpl and has a top speed of 80kmph. 

The Super Carry has a wider and longer loading area and comes with increased focus on safety. It gets disc at front and drum brakes at rear which provide better barking confidence like a car. Add to this, it also gets Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) braking system for better stability during braking while carrying load. The super carry comes equipped with a Bigger and wider windscreen and ORVMs (driver & co-driver) which adds safety to the vehicle.

It has decent capacity to carry 740kgs of load on all terrains. For driver’s comfort, maruti had added wide seating arrangement and a lighter steering wheel. It has a wheelbase of 2110mm. The vehicle gets good amount of features, such as a mobile charging socket, dual assist grip, odometer, trip meter, fuel meter, stereo system and digital clock. Super Carry is offered in two color opions - Superior White and Silky Silver.
