One of the most anticipated SUVs of this year, the Jeep Compass is finally going to be launched in India in August, 2017. This Made-In-India SUV will be the most affordable product from the iconic American company when it is launched in India.

The first units of the Jeep Compass are already rolling out from FCA's (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) plant in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra with demo units set to reach dealerships by the end of June. The right-hand-drive variants of the Jeep Compass will only be formed in India and exported to other right-hand-drive markets internationally. 

India will be the exclusive producer of the Jeep Compass for all the right-hand-drive markets like - Australia, UK and Japan. This indicates that the manufacturers will not compromise on the quality of the vehicle. 

In India, the Compass will be offered with two engine options – 1.4-litre turbo MultiAir2 petrol with 7-speed DDCT (dual dry clutch transmission) automatic and 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In terms of safety, the Compass will be outfitted with features like six airbags, four-channel ABS with EBD, panic-brake assist, roll mitigation and brake prefill. Other comfort and convenience features include LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, 3.5/7-inch LED driver information display (DID) in the instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

It will compete with SUVs similar to the Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, and the VW Tiguan, along with the upcoming Skoda Karoq.
