Global SUV manufacturer “JEEP” is likely to launch its Compass crossover in India. It's the first product of jeep that would be manufactured in India. The crossover is expected to launch in a price range of Rs 18 - 20 lakh.

Mechanicaly, petrol engines power 1.4 litre Multi-Air Turbo unit and diesel is expected with 2.0 litre Multijet II turbo engine. Transmission duties will be performed by a six speed manual setup whereas automatic transmission could feature a nine-speed manual setup.

Moreover, Jeep is likely to offer Compass with all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrains, although AWD system may vary from variant to variant.

Right now, Jeep is selling its three most powerful SUVs, which are Grand Cherokee, Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee SRT.
