Hyundai recalls its small car Eon

Hyundai Motor recalls 7,657 units of small hatchback Eon in India

The Hyundai Motor Company announced a recall of its Eon hatchback to inspect the issue of “clutch cable fouling with the battery cable”. This inspection and a possible replacement of the battery cable will be free of cost for the owner.

The recall affects 7,657 units of the Eon manufactured in January 2015. Hyundai will get in touch with the affected customers in a phased manner to inspect this issue and replace battery cable, if found damaged.

Company launched the Eon hatchback in India in 2011, although the vehicle hasn’t received any facelifts, new variants with extra features were added to the line-up a year after the launch. The compact hatch also came with factory-fitted LPG kit.

The Hyundai Eon comes with an 814cc 3-cylinder petrol engine that develops 55 bhp of power and 75Nm of torque. Hyundai also launched the 1.0-litre Kappa variants of Eon as well, which has a power output of 66bhp. These engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
