Hyundai Creta becomes Indian car of the year 2016 making Hyundai to win their third ICOTY award in a row. This is Hyundai's third consecutive ICOTY award after Grand i10 and Elite i20 for 2014 and 2015 respectively. It also made Hyundai the only company having a total of four ICOTY awards so far.

Hyundai Creta was launched in July 2015. In a short span of 5 months it has taken a record booking of 92,000 till date (including 16,000 units for export) and is expected to go over 100,000 sales milestone soon. Initial production of Creat was 6,500 units per month, which is now increased to 7,500 units a month. Hyundai targeted to sell 4.65 lakh cars this year and is expecting to reach 4.76 lakh unit with the rising demand and bookings.
