Honda India recalls 3,879 units of City CVT sedan

Honda issued an official recalling of 3,879 units of a particular variant of its popular sedan City in India which were manufactured between February 2014 and November 2014. The recall is done for a software update pertaining to the CVT gearbox. It is said to be a part of a recall campaign across several regions, as part of global exercise.

Honda told that “The software will be updated free of cost at HCIL dealership across India from October 24, 2015 onwards and the Company will communicate with customers directly”. Customers can also check if their car is a part of the recall campaign by entering the 17-digit VIN (Vehicle Identification number) on the company website.

Last month, Honda had recalled around 2.24 lakh units of its premium sports utility vehicles – CR-V, Sedans Civic, City and hatchback Jazz manufactured between 2003 to 2012 to replace faulty inflators airbags.
