Honda BR-V launched on 5th May in India at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Honda has launched its most awaited BR-V compact SUV, today at a starting price of Rs 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in nine trims, in which five are petrol and rest are diesel. The BR-V is based on the same platform as the Brio, Mobilio and Amaze, which is lighter, stiffer and safer.

The Honda BR-V is equipped with 2-DIN Audio player with Bluetooth/FM/MP3/USB/AUX, driver’s seat height adjust, push-button start with keyless entry, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, fully electrical-adjustable ORVMs, rear wipe-wash, leather seats,  leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual front airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, etc.

Under the hood, the BR-V is powered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine develops 100hp of power and 200Nm of torque, while the petrol engine develops 119hp of power and 145Nm of torque. Both petrol and diesel variants are mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the petrol gets a CVT transmission as optional. Interestingly, the petrol CVT variant is also equipped with steering-mounted paddle shifters, a class-first feature.

According to ARAI mileage, the diesel manual returns 21.9kmpl, petrol manual returns 15.4kmpl and CVT variant returns 16kmpl.
