Ford has finally launched the iconic Mustang in India today at a price of Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will accept bookings for the Mustang in Delhi and Mumbai for now, and plans to include other cities next year.

On the outside, the Mustang gets its traditional retro touch to the styling of the nose and rear, in addition to a muscle bonnet and wide character lines. The front end of the car features sharp projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights and dual exhaust pipes as standard.

Powering the Mustang is a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine, which develops 401 hp of power and 515Nm of torque.  Power is sent to the rear wheels by a 6-speed automatic gearbox with steering-mounted paddle shifters. Mustang is fitted with 19-inch sports wheels as standard.

The Mustang gets aviation-inspired interiors like - airplane-like toggle switches on the centre console. Drivers can choose from four driving modes namely – Normal, Sport+, track and wet. The car also comes with limited slip differential to improve traction and agility on slippery surfaces.

Mustang is equipped with one of kind, electronic line lock as standard. This feature allows the front brakes to be locked electronically, while leaving the rear tyres free to spin, in order to enable drivers to perform burnouts while keeping the car stationary.
