Fiat India is ready to launch original Punto which is expected to be called Fiat Punto Pure in India. It is expected to launch at the end of January 2016. Price details have not been disclosed yet.

The car will be offered in 3 trims - Base variant Active, mid variant Dynamic and top variant Emotion . The variants will be available in both petrol and diesel options. It will feature 1.2 L FIRE and 1.4 L FIRE naturally aspirated petrol engines capable of producing 68bhp of power and 96Nm of torque and 90bhp and 115Nm of peak torque respectively. The diesel variant will have 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine, which produces 75bhp of power and 197Nm of peak torque. This will help the hatchback go toe-to-toe against Baleno diesel trims. Fiat Punto Pure will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Punto Pure will likely to compete with Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
