Electric cars soon to be VAT, road tax and registration free in the state of Maharashtra

For pollution reduction and Pollution free cities, Maharashtra Government will soon waive Value Added Tax (VAT), Road tax and Registration charges on electric vehicles sold in the state. Union Power Minister, Piyush Goyal announced this at a press conference and added that a formal official announcement will be made soon after discussing it with state Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis.

Union Power Minister, Piyush Goyal said ”We will ask BJP-ruled states to waive the tax for electric cars but the other states will need to bring up the proposals themselves “. Petrol bunks in the country will soon have electric charging Points available. Mahindra Reva e2o is the only all-electric car sold in the country and will benefit from this scheme in Maharashtra.
