BMW is working on more powerful facelift of i8

After performing in market for more than three years, BMW is planning to upgrade i8. In the year 2017 hybrid car is expected to launch in international market.

The power of new car is bumped up by 15bhp, which means that it will make a total of 372bhp. Increase in performance would allow it to better the current 0-100kmph run (accomplished in 4.4sec) by a slight margin.

With increased power from petrol electric hybrid system, you’d be surprised to know that BMW is actually working towards extending the range of new i8. This is possible with the help of reworked battery pack that could take inputs from Formula E-safety vehicle (i8) which uses a 10kWh (regular car uses 7.1kWh battery).

There’s also a possibility that new i8 will get few changes in chassis, like modified upper wishbones, light weight mounting points, and altered dampers and springs.
