German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched a petrol-powered variant of the 5-series in India.

BMW has launched a petrol engine-powered 5-series, the 520i in India at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BMW 5 Series sedan will be brought to India as Completely Built Unit (CBU).

BMW 520i uses the same TwinPower turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine which develops 184hp of power and 270Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW claims that the car can accelerate from 0-100kph in 7.9 seconds to a top speed of 233kmph.

The car comes with the host of features like – adaptive LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in run-flat tyres, a 10.2-inch colour display for the iDrive infotainment system and navigation with 3D maps, a 600W - 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and paddle shifters for the automatic gearbox. The Car is also equipped with few fuel-saving functions like engine start-stop function, brake-energy regeneration and an Eco Pro driving mode.

The BMW 520i is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork, where Black Sapphire and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect are available in metallic paintworks.
