Audi is preparing to launch a new concept model Q8 Coupe based on Q7 SUV

Audi has released official sketches of its brand-new concept model – Audi Q8. The ‘production-ready’ model will be a new flagship of Audi’s Q range SUVs.

New concept Q8 is expected to hit market in 2018 and will compete with likes of BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE and others. Its styling appears to be inspired by current Q7 with more aggressive sporty touches. The Q8’s large octagonal grille features a menacing black finish with six fang like chrome strakes while the bonnet boasts four large creases borrowed from the latest A5. Audi’s also takes a hole-punch to its bumper and adds a handful of new air intakes below the headlights.

According to Audi, its a cross between SUV and coupe, which is fairly evident from sketches. The SUV will be based on Audi’s new MLB EVO platform that made its debut with second-gen Q7. It is expected to come with 4.0 litre V8 diesel engine producing more than 435hp.
