Audi launched updated version of its A8 L security at Auto Expo in India at a price of Rs 9.15 Crore with two engine options

Audi after showcasing A4 concept and launching its super car R8 2nd Edition V10 Plus in Auto Expo also launched the updated Edition of its armoured limousine A8 L security. The updated version of A8 L security is priced at Rs 9 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and more secure with Audi upgraded ballistic protection.

Audi has added new features using a mix of different materials like aramide fabric, special alloys and hot formed steel armour to increase occupant protection levels still keeping close check on vehicle weight. Auxiliary battery and armoured communications box in the boot are few other features present in updated A8L Security.

The Audi A8L Security standard features include an intercom for outside communication with a speaker mounted behind the grille, selective door unlocking, an emergency exit system, fire extinguishing system and an emergency fresh air system. Driver can also start car engine remotely.

The upgraded version gets VR9 level ballistics protection replacing the VR7 ballistics protection that was in the previous cars. The A8L Security has two engines, a 4.0 L twin-turbo V8 powering 429bhp and peak torque of 600 Nm and a naturally aspirated W12 engine belting out 493bhp and 625 Nm of torque. The top-speed of the car has been electronically limited to 210kmph.
