German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the all new AMG-powered GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe at Rs 74.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

With no real competition in the Indian market yet, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe offers comparatively compact SUV dimensions with coupe like styling similar to what you get on the larger GLE 43 Coupe.

The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe is decidedly sportier than its standard SUV counterpart and features a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, sporty air intakes and a chrome front splitter. The rear gets quad chrome-plated tailpipes and a sharp spoiler lip. 19-inch alloys will come as standard while 21-inchers are available as an option.

From interior, the cabin gets an all-black interior option along with red stitching, a flat bottom steering wheel, and red seat belts. Several carbon fibre trim pieces on the dashboard and the centre console are also used to craft it look sporty. The 19-inch wheels from the AMG Sport line, sharp projector headlamps with LED DRLs, wide wraparound LED taillamps and a quad exhaust setup is some other standout features.

Mechanically, the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 petrol engine that produces 362bhp of power and 520Nm of torque. Power to the wheels is routed through an AMG spec 9G-Tronic transmission and 4MATIC AWD system.

The engine as well the transmission system has been carried over from the AMG GLE 43 4MATIC Coupe. However, since the GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe is lighter, it is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds (0.8 seconds faster). The top speed has been electronically limited to 250kmph. The vehicle gets five driving modes - Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.

The newly launched Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe will further deepen roots for the German automaker and widen options for performance car buyers in the country. 

All new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe goes against the likes of the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Volvo XC90, Porsche Macan and the Jaguar F-Pace.
