Made-In-India Jeep Compass to Launch on July 31

Jeep Compass launch is finally set to be propelled in India on 31 July, 2017. Since Jeep began accepting bookings for the Compass on June 20, the made in India SUV has gotten a mind-boggling reaction with more than 1000 units spoken for within the initial three days.

Whereas the India-spec Compass was foremost unveiled, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) began production of the SUV at its Ranjangaon facility close to Pune from June 1. FCA has invested more than Rs 1,800 crore on the plant and has also managed to accomplish 70 per cent parts localization for the Compass.

The all new Made-In-India Jeep Compass will be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. This can be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel mated to a six-speed manual transmission, or a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic box. At the Jeep Compass launch, the diesel that produces 173bhp and 350Nm torque will be presented.

Jeep guarantees that the Jeep Compass is offered with more than 50 wellbeing and security features. The equipment list includes frequency selective damping (FSD), electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, electric parking brake (EPB), dynamic steering torque, hill start assist, adaptive brake lights and panic brake assist as a standard across the range.

The vehicle will be available in five colour options - minimal grey, exotica red, hydro blue, vocal white and hip hop black.

Jeep is expected to launch the Jeep Compass with a starting price of Rs 18 lakh for the base model, while the top-of-the-line 4x4 variant models may vary to price of Rs 25 lakh. The jeep Compass major list of rivals includes the Hyundai Tucson, the Honda CR-V and the recently launched VW Tiguan.
