2018 Nissan Leaf confirmed for September 6 reveal

Nissan has released a teaser of the 2018 Leaf, confirming that the hatchback will be unveiled on 6 September.

The design appears to be inspired by the Micra, as shown by sightings of development cars, with sharper lines on the body and a more aggressively stooped nose.

Beside its new look; the next-gen zero-emissions electric hatchback will also comprise an enhanced electric drivetrain that’s predicted to have a range of up to 340 miles – more than double the current car’s range.

The Japanese automaker has been promoting its ProPILOT Assist features that will be featured in the new Leaf, offering semi-autonomous technology for self-driving on the highway. Look for a driving range between 210 to 220 miles as the new Leaf will compete largely with the Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla Model 3.

With the beginning of GST, the government is dropping the tax rate for electric vehicles to 12 per cent to encourage sustainable means of mobility. While the Leaf will be globally unveiled on 6 September, the Indian audience will have to wait until the 2018 Auto Expo.
