BMW 520d M Sport version launched in India at Rs 54 lakh (all-India ex-showroom)

German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the 520d M Sport version in India, priced at Rs 54 lakh (all-India ex-showroom). The model is to be locally built at the company’s plant in Chennai.

BMW 520d M Sport is powered by the same 1995cc engine which develops 190PS of power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shifters and claims a fuel efficiency of 18.12 kmpl. It accelerates from 0-100kmph in 7.7sec with a top speed of 233kmph.

On the outside, BMW has added 18-inch M alloy wheels with a double-spoke design, side skirts, sport bumpers, exhaust pipe finishers in Dark Chrome, and diffuser finished in Dark Shadow metallic. The car also sports adaptive LED headlights, ‘M’ badge on the front wings and 'M' designation on the door sill strip.

Inside, it features electrically adjustable sports front seats, all leather upholstery, M multifunction steering wheel, aluminium hexagon interior trim strip, BMW iDrive with 10-inch colour display and Navigation System Professional with 3D maps (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), BMW apps, Park Distance Control, rear-view camera and connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices.

BMW 520d M Sport offers various safety features namely -  six airbags, park distance control, hill descent control, Dynamic Stability Control and Cornering Brake Control. Additional features on the 520d M Sport include Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO modes (ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport), Brake-Energy Regeneration and a 50:50 Weight Distribution.
